In the throne room and above the throne is a collection of nautical items.

From the photo of the NorEaster sailor to the Bennie Bear dressed out in his matching slicker this place is ready to go to sea. A sailor is allowed a few mementos of home when at sea and some of his favorite toys are along including his cast iron bank and a key wind train engine. More serious items are there like his boxed Sextant and his large cast iron jail key (you never know when he might have to escape form a pirates brig). His first scrimshawed handy work lays along side that of a much more experienced craftsman's pencil box. His array of compasses, looking glasses and pistol tells you this ship is ready to sail at the push of a handle. The life boat literally stands at the ready, as do the tankards, ready for his favorite grog (Dr. Pepper) and the smoking lantern is out (top shelf). The order has been given, "all hands silent about the ship." Here the Captain rests.

This is part of a Man's Fort, a Captains Cabin, filled with mantiques. No cave here. Not dark, not dank, and no girls. They await him at every port and port hole, but HERE is Mans Land.

Don't think I didn't catch the "cave" comment! LOL Cool display.... I'll take that lantern and telescope.

Can you keep a secret? The lantern is real ... but the telescope is AVON ... my real ones aren't there. I have Civil War era wood ones and a WWII USN ones.
I don't leave them laying around. The Pistol is AVON too. They look the part.

I have a compulsion for things with lenses and boxes??? Tickers, and talkers too. Ink and Lead. Readers and bleeders. Coins and Paper. Stamps and Stories. Old, and Older. Advertising and ... what goes with advertising? I got to kiss the blarney stone and get my powers back. ... it is in there, just not on that shelf.

LOL I kinda dig things with lenses and boxes myself. I'll post my favorite microscopes when I have some time.

TIKI ... I found my REAL heavy duty Microscope today ... don't let me forget to discuss it with you via e-mail. I am running a fever tonight and if it is like my daughters it may get high. If that happens I may forget, so just remind me in a day or two via e-Mail.

We have moved and now I have to share my porcelain throne room with a woman. Not decorated as yet but not likely my nautical stuff.
