This is a original Photo and signed by Margit Nilsen on back in ink of Mannequin on Mantel in prior Photo of her in front of her portrait photo . Circa 1940 a 30 inch mannequin dressed and designed by Margit Nilsen . It was used to advertise perfume . This photo belonged to her and was in her estate and I acquired it from family . Her studio burned and many items were lost in the fire , I have a letter she wrote to her sister referring to fire . These were in her home and saved from fire . Photo is fragile and kept in acid free binder among my other documents of her's . This gives you a look at how important these counter top mannequins were in advertising in stores and took up very ittle space . many little girls fell in love with them and wanted one so Margit did make a few dolls for girls one being Deb-U-Doll and 3 others in her family . They did not hold up well and most are found broke and melted area's . She sold clothes for them under her name at a few stores FAO Schwartz was one that carried the doll. I have a few posted of them back aways in posts .
