It was about time i started seriously posting my Nanny Still items. In fact, the part of her designs in my collection is the second most important part of it (first one, of course, is Per Lütken).

These may be familiar to you as vikma has already posted a couple of items from this AMETIISTI range, although he's got many many more (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/73490-nanny-still and http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/71690-nanny-still).

This range was designed in 1960 and the lilac colour was the most popular one at the time amongst the consumers of Riihimäki glass (in fact, at the same time Tamara Aladin was working almost exclusively in this colour). It consists mostly of vases (both cylindrical and cone shaped), round shaped bowls (both vases and bowls have collars) a jug and an oil and vinegar set (very sought after!).

Thanks JayHow, Sean and Vet for your loves AND comments :)

I have been neglecting Nanny Still a lot lately (probably because her designs have become so expensive there is virtually no way I can add new items to my collection)

It wasn't that expensive before, and I've been collecting her stuff for years already. I wish i were rich!

      Thanks for your words, JayHow!

Well, first of all, there are two collections I am showing here: my partner's and mine... (If anyone is wondering what happens when two collectors become a couple I think I can give an answer: they need at least a 300 square meters place, which we haven't got! I wish!)

When I started collecting glass seriously my ex used to tell me how wise I was as presently they would increase in value -specially the way i collect them, getting much stuff from the same range and designer- and used to say that would be so (but secretly I always thought i wouldn't get rid of my glass collection ;) )

I guess yes, we're glass rich, but only glass rich :)

As for Nanny Still items reaching such high prices... I think that's so crazy! People is paying such high sumes of money for, for instance, Grapponia stuff that was mass produced and then they forget about other amazing and rarer designs...
