There's no doubt the late 60s was the time of texturized glass! Nanny Still have her share of the part and in 1967 she designed a series of vases, candleholders and bowls that were highly texturized: STELLARIA, KOMETTI, NEBULOSA, QUADRIFOGLIA, FONTANA, FANTASMA, FENOMENA, FLORENTINA and CANDIDA, the design I am introducing to you today.
All of them were made in orange, olive green or clear glass (although they were originally designed to be made in dark green, violet and black cased glass), and displayed an amazing texture that came from using moulds made out of wood covered in copper nails nailed on them. As I've got other items from these series, I will presently talk about it.
So far, enjoy the CANDIDA vase and candleholder!

So you would still see them as handcrafted, not industrialized press glass?
Well, these were not industrialized pressed glass at all. They are all mould-blown (as most of Riihimäki production was), but the whole process was handmade.
I am now preparing the post for the rest of the texturized glass items from this time I've got, and there will be a picture of the inner part of a mould. You'll see that not very industrial.
The tangerine colour is very nice -even if i know some Finns who think it awful :)- but I quite like thr contrasy between reen and orange. I would love to get the other items from this range in these colours, not in clear glass.
