I really want to know what this is, it weighs a little over 2 lbs,
Stands about 3 1/2 " tall , 3 1/2" wide, it looks like you can screw something into it, its all pottery, and glazed.
My mother says it was used for the railroad. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    It's an insulator. Look around where you live at the power lines and power poles. You'll see them, they are still in use today.
