Found this old washboard in a crawl space in an old house being torn down. I'm not sure if it was made this way or if someone covered the top, or if it was made that way originally. There is a signature on the back that is dated 1886. I have no way to verify the artist or the time frame of the signature.
Old wash boards are pretty common. The written signature causes me to have questions. The saturation and blur look like it was written with a blue sharpie.
