Egyptian Tea Cup w/ Hieroglyphics -
"Fine Royal Porcelain Sculpture Made in Egypt" is written on the bottom.
I have been unable to determine the age & if it is part of a collection.
Do the "Hieroglyphic" symbols represent anything or are they just for decoration?
How can I determine if it is trimmed in 'real' gold?
I was told it was from the 1960's.
Any other information would be appreciated.
    thank you

      To Collectors Weekly Support,
Thanks for moving this cup to a category. I was not sure where to place when I posted it.

Hi Alpha, the graphics on the bottom, would suggest to me that this is a modern piece. I think it's a tourist piece.

      AmberRose,
I had a hunch it was a tourist piece. It does seem to be of a good quality. It was awkward when using it to drink coffee & tea due to shape of the lip. It did not stain from either.
      thank you for your input.

I have a similar tea set that has some pieces marked with this same logo on the bottom, some are not marked at all and then there is the teapot which matches all the other pieces exactly which is marked 'Fine Royal Porcelain' over a crown, the initials E.G.P. Co. under the Crown and 'T. Limoges' under all of that. So it seems like these are perhaps a higher end set possibly made for a museum by Limoge (?)

It also looks like Limoges created pieces for Egypt Airlines that were given away to some of the passengers. Most of those pieces I've found online also had the Egypt Air logo on the bottom. So not sure if all of these were created for them or if they were just creating higher end tourist pieces for multiple companies. Anyways, looks like they are at least holding some value! Happy Hunting out there ;)
