My dad found this trench art ashtray in an old house that has been in our family for over 100 years. We believe the base is from a 76mm casing due to the 76/40 mark. However we have not had any luck identifying the other marks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I see a crown on the bottom, so it may be a UK made round.

The 76mm gun was used on late war Sherman tanks and also tank destroyers.

I am a fan of trench art-- if you have time take a look at my postings of trench art from all eras and numerous styles.
