Small campaign pin. A little bigger than a quarter. Unusual becaus I didnt thnk LBJ ever launched a political campaign.

Actually, LBJ had ran for senate and won several times, before being picked as JFK's running mate in the 1960 election. After he replaced JFK, who was assassinated in November 1963, he ran the following year against Barry Goldwater in the 1964 election and won easily as president.I think the country was still shell shocked from what had happened in Dallas the previous year. He decided not to seek a second term, partially due to the escalation and unpopularity of the Vietnam war, and that was the end of his political career. That's my 2 cents worth.
