I have been having trouble researching this bottle and hope someone here can help me. Here is the pertinent information:

It is a honey or medium amber bottle measuring 9 5/8. It has a crown top. It is BIM (seams go to just under rim). It has no closure. Smooth base with the #'s 489 embossed on bottom. No letters or symbols on bottom, just 489. This is what the embossing on front of bottle says:
RIEGER BOTTLING WKS
R.B.W.
REGISTERED
BINGHAMTON . N.Y.

It has "good bubbles". Excellent condition so I don't think it was ever buried underground.

I can't even locate the existence of this company. I will try the historical society. I hope someone can give me some more info. Thank you so much in advance for any information that any of you can help me with.

look and see if any books have been written on the citys companys and old buildings.
its from about 1910-1920 . check the old phone books at the library and theyll tell you when the co was open.

5-20$ but may go for more locally.
