It's hard to believe the the Paint By Numbers Art is sought after , but it has been collected for some time now, vintage pieces of the first patterns are highly collectible, I've searched under every heading to find this pattern and no luck yet, I think it is a beauty!

I wonder if you have looked at the back side of the painting? Often you will learn more there than from trying to face it head on. If it is paint by the number there should be markings on the reverse side.

Yes I looked at the painting and I though it was strange that it is actually a piece of canvas glued to a piece of brown card board , were the early paint by numbers patterns printed on canvas and I also found it strange that I could only see 3 numbers that coincide with the gold color through out the whole painting ,so I assumed it was a paint by numbers art work , do you think that some artist might have used numbers to scale down a version of a larger painting , because I'm sure I've seen this image before ,I just can't recall where.
