This medal has been in the family for many years and no one remembered what it was for. My dad's father served in the Danish Army from 1899 to 1912, So I took a shot at in being from Denmark. It was given to my grandfather during the reign of King Frederik Vlll (1906-1912) for 8 years of faithful service to the King. At the top of the cross is stamp Fv111 for Frederik 8th.

    Hi, ttomtucker. Beautiful medal!

Were all the ribbons from this period folded in this manner? I see on some service medals with ribbons presented thusly, and some not. Thanks!
