the first sign is from a octagon shaped house once owned by a famous gangster. I doubt if it was there when he lived there as the house was octagon as it provided 8 "occupied" bedrooms for his friends. I helped the owner of the house in 1998 reshingle the house and fell in love with the sign in the basement and as he was about to throw it out he gave it to me.
The second sign : I was driving through northern Mn. and noticed a wrecking crew at an old gas station and stopped. The crew had taken some things out but had left the sign in on the wall. I asked if I could have it and one of he workers said he would go in and take it down for me for $5.00.
It was a pleasure to pay him..........
