Bottom of bottle reads "ONE PINT". It is also embossed with "PAT. 105797". However, the online database for the US Patent Office does not yield any results for the number. It is an unusual looking bottle because of the flat side that makes it assymetrical. It is molded glass maybe even flask like. I would like to know the history of the bottle if anyone can help. I'm guessing it was for either medicine or liquor, but I really have no idea. I found it near Madrid, New Mexico which was an old mining community in the late 1800s. Thank you to anyone that can help.

Although they are usually more ornate, this could have contained Embalming Fluid at one time. I am a retired Health official and have supervised hundreds of dis-internments and these bottles were usually buried in the coffins with the clients. They were placed between the lower legs so that they couldn't be seen when the body was displayed. RER

      Loumanal,

Thank you for the info. It does help. I'll keep the inquiry open a little longer. Hopefully, I can get a particular brand and maybe year too.

Ok, thanks to TallCakes, the bottle was patented on 27 Aug 1937 for J. T. & A. Hamilton Company. So, it's diffinately not older than that. The company had a reputation of making bottles for liquor and sodas. But, Loumanal's rational theory of its possible use for embalming fluid has not been eliminated either. This is definate progress, Thanks.

I have the same bottle with a metal cap that has a raised capital m over a capital w inside a circle. I found it outside of Hico Texas.

Brian777, do you have any idea what the bottle contained? Or what the MW represented?
