This is a nice example of Kutani Dragonware, pretty neat if you hold the cup up to a light her face appears, would anyone know what year this hallmark is? I found a mark simular to it but not exact

Hi Deanteaks, please forgive me if I'm covering material you already have.
Meijyo is one of several hundred Kutani (Nine Valleys) kilns with two dozen or more patterns and dates to at least 1930. The moriage (raised) decoration was mostly gone after 1930 due to the high cost of manufacture. The lithophane geisha is also typical of the period. The mark is in Western script, so apparently for export, but not to the U.S. as it does not have 'Made in Japan' , required from 1921 to 1940. I would date your set to about 1930, possibly earlier.
    Regards, Jim

Great post DT, with interesting info JW.
What an unusual item. Can her face not be seen unless held to the light?
