One of my the most interesting Native American relics in my family collection is this catlinite pipe. The pipe shows a lot of use, with the interior being black in color. Additionally there is a crease/ partial cut that can be seen in the last photo.

This catlinite pipe was collected by my Great Grandfather. In the early part of the last century he assembled one of the largest and most diverse collections of Native American relics in his area.

He spent his youth collecting the relics in local sites (along the MS river, East of St Louis). Much of the collection was donated to the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park.

Our family still has 10- 15 of the relics-- some of which I have already posted on CW.

Nice that & good background. Hope you keep the history written down & kept with them. The video game generation doesn't seem too interested in our past.
