My father found this reel along with a very old bamboo fly rod in a small hamlet in southern ontario, close to the town of Paisley. He had this hanging up as a display feature as my parents ran a B&B for fishermen on the Saugeen River. I have always been intruiged with it and ask him where he got it and from what he told me he found it in an old run down barn. He never knew the value of it as it has no definitive markings on the outside of it. I moved to Edmonton, Alberta and he sent it to me to have and display (we are both very avid fishermen, and I actually guide in the northwest territories). I took the spool off today to look into it more and found a marking on the inside of the spool which looks like "PC", which in my mind rules it out as being an old Hardy reel which I thought it was. Interested to see if anyone can identify the markings? The reel came attached to an old bamboo rod which also has no definitive markings on it.
