This good looking A. Willmann & Co. spring driven 'regulator' was the last of the lucky clock buys for me. I walked into a true estate sale and lo and behold, an old dealer friend was managing this sale for a friend of his who had passed away. After swapping stories, I turned and saw this clock on the wall and fell in love with it! I would have borrowed money to buy it. I will never forget what he said to me when I asked how much is that clock on the wall? His reply was, "hmmm, for you, I think Jack would have been happy with $75." And he meant that. He knew the clock would have a great home, that is in my small SF apartment, and not re-sold on the open clock market. There has been a lot of discussion on the NAWCC website regarding A.Willman & Co. Freiburg as it relates to the Gustav Becker clock co. Far too convoluted for me to make an abridged statement regarding the incredible research some of the members have accomplished regarding this clockmaker. Suffice it for me to say, the Willmann clock co. was established in 1871 and stayed in business for apprx. 27 years. From what I gathered, this particular clock and movement may be very old based on the serial number. This walnut clock case really is akin to fine furniture and is in superb condition. The dial is perfect and the fancy R/A pendulum is original. Although keeping exceptional time, the movement is dirty and in need of an expensive cleaning that I am saving $ to have completed. The dimensions are: 43" height x 17" upper width x 16" lower width x overall depth of 8".

This is a sentimental favorite because of how I acquired it. Thank you Pops52 for 'loving' this one, too. My collection not large, but it's fun sharing it with you all and reminding myself how they came to be with me.
