Wow, there sure are a LOT of Black Forest cuckoo clocks with an 'eagle' (or at least an eagle-like looking bird) perched atop the roof, wings out spread like he just made a landing. Although, these clocks are from the Black Forest region of Germany, Americans have a love for the eagle. They do sell! This particular 30 hour cuckoo clock, ca. 1880-1890, also has intricate deep carvings of a good-sized pair of hooded birds perched at the base, oak leaves, a large pine cone, and what looks to me like pine branches. I appreciate that the pendulum is also carved to match. At the time of purchase 'on-line', this clock had what was insinuated to be original cartouche numerals. Yeah right, I had strong doubts. When I finally received the clock, I popped those numerals off faster than you could bat an eye. I emailed Roy at BoneHands and he crafted his exquisite bone numerals and finely carved hands for me. I will credit the dealer for a clock case that is in perfect condition and a very clean movement with original pipes/ bellows. Dimensions of the case only are 27" height x overall width of 18" * eagle wing span of 12 1/4" NOT 18".
Sure is a beauty! I can see this hanging on my wall!

Tutzie, first "Thank You" for looking over the timepieces I have posted. You had mention the many different characters involved. I'm going to make a guess on how many different characters I have and would venture approx. 200-250 different characters. Mind you that a guess. I really never separated them out to see. As far as "timepieces" goes, around 5000 +, not a clue how many now.
Geez louise! 5000+ time pieces? That takes my breath away. I'm having so fun going back in time viewing your clocks and watches. Simply wonderful!
