I got this a few years ago at a flea market in san francisco. it was in perfect working order until i just lifted it by the 'safety' screen and broke it. o well... i can't find an electric fan category. does anyone know how old this is? is it anything good, or just trendy?

There are two categories I know of for electric fans.
      Machines-Tools and Hardware-Electric Fans
      Machines-Office Antiques-Electric Fans
Looks like late 1920s or 30s. If that is a brass blade it would be earlier. You should be able to find someone who can fix it. It is just a spot weld.

thank you fortapache. doesn't look like it because of the reflection and being so dirty, but it is a brass blade. so that makes it earlier than the 20s? it's incredibly heavy - solid iron.

It is 20s or earlier. If it has an AC/DC switch it is a bit older about 1910. Without doing any research my eyeball guess is 1920. I can look it up when I get home from work.

lets see the break, bet it can be fixed.

Ship it up to me & I'll weld it up for you, can't promise you'll get it back though. :-))

Well I can't find any information on Model No 16121. But I am pretty sure it is 1920s. It is AC only which means it came after the battle between AC and DC and brass blades. A combination that says 1920s or very close to it.
What is the blade diameter? Does the oscillator work?
Anyway brass blade fans are very desirable.

thank you fortapache and walksoftly. i'm not sure how to answer your questions, because i've already put it back in the warehouse. i'm sure i can fix the weld at some point.
