Appears to be a 50s pocket watch (according to Jim & Merlyn Collings' book) and powered by an Ansonia movement, the dial is decorated with a red & a blue colour flag and time-teacher style numerals in red on the outer ring. The case back has a boy scout holding a signal flag with mountain/camping scene background incised.

Dave (pw-collector) posted the same watch two years ago and he mentioned that Ansonia were in operation until 1930. The exact period in which this watch was made is therefore still a mystery. You can see Dave's watch here : http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/57927-ansonia-scout-troop-watch

      George,
In George Townsend's book "The Watch That Made The Dollar Famous" on page 6, the diagrams showing Ansonia Movements, Plate 2 matches this movement except for the plate stampings:
MFG BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO.
      NEW YORK, U.S. OF AMERICA
      PAT. APRIL 17. 1888
This is one way I used to identify mine as an Ansonia.

Thank you Sean & Dave for visiting & the appreciation.

@ Dave, I totally agree with you that this watch is powered by a basic Ansonia Clock Co. movement. However, the watch appears to be a 50s piece and Ansonia ceased trading/manufacturing in 1929/1930. Just wonder why use a late 20s movement for a 50s watch.
