How I would love to have this Poster as this is my family's brewery! I am directly related to them through my Great Grandmother Apollonier Haffen. Now if I could only find some information on her husbands August Dahler's Tin Toy Factory that was in operation at the same time I would be drop dead happy! Mathias Haffen started the brewery in 1856-1917 at Elton Street. They say the storage vaults were almost 4' thick. His 2 sons ran the business until Prohibition. It was then sold to another company but the name was kept. My family was still making beer even during prohibition believe you! Mother had stories of the chickens eating the hops and they thought they were all dead, but as time went on they came to life as they were just drunk. The Haffen's were a very important family in the growth of the Bronx. Put Louis Haffen into your Google search and see what comes up, there is even a Park named after him there. The Haffen building in the Bronx has been declared a landmark. OH ENJOY your poster...I envy you. Fondly, Sean Colorado
