    I purchased this today and the seller had no idea what it was used for, dead ends on internet searches. Please help ! thanks.

    It had a wood topped pumping device on top and the contents appear to come out of the spout connected to the gargoyles mouth.

    soldered stamp on bottom reads (J.L. TREATS PATENT FEB.25.1862 YALE & CURTIS MANUFACTURERS NEW YORK) Thanks in advance for your help.
