I want to present one of my most special jewelry.
To my great joy I have managed to get hold from Germany this wonderful fine example of Iron Berlin Silesian wirework pair of earrings. Very old, dating the late 1700's - early 1800's. Unusual, very collectible even museal about which little is known. There are few of this type of jewelry has been preserved and therefore quite rare. Made from casting Iron in Berlin or Silesia iron mesh with applied bees. This pair of earrings belonging to Silesian wirework jewelry.
According to the literature that there is little gain in this area including the book Cut Steel and Berlin Iron Jewellery by Ann Clifford is highly likely (one can not precisely date) that this type of jewelry made in Gleiwitz, in that Silesian was in the former Poland. These ornaments were first made late 1700 early 1800's here. I quote the text written by Ann Clifford in the book mentioned above bottom of page 31:

'' The jewelry that were made are a rather cool dingy gray, or even with a slight glint of steel shaft though. These are usual pieces that by some mischance were never enameled or from which the enamel has been cleaned off. It has been claimed 'That the earliest examples were, in fact, given a bronze color, presumably with lacquer or paint, because bronze was then fashionable, but I have never seen any examples of this and do not believe this was the case''.
THIS EARRINGS MEET EXACTLY THIS DESCRIPTION! !!
