I found this at the bottom of a box of early 1900's magazine. I have no idea of what is is, how old, the culture, or what the beads are made from but they feel as if they are a type of plastic. Any ideas? Could this have been made to go onto clothing? Thanks!

I have an idea of what it is! Probably too old for scratch & sniff. Devil made me do it!

Got an early twentieth century look to them. Might even be Art Deco. Worn at the neck of a flapper's dress? Nice work.

I haven't researched Art Deco, thanks for the ideas!

Lol...When I first saw the small thumbprint pic in the group....I thought it was a thong....LOL....I see it is not.

That aside, very unique piece and old. Are the beads glass?

i agree with vetraio50, if it's any help. in my opinion it looks to be edwardian or deco seed beading that would have been cut out or salvaged from a garment of that era. silk crepe was commonly used in garments, but fragile and would tear, so it's not uncommon to see scraps of beadwork or embroidery that had been saved from ripped or shattered garments.
