This Westminster chime clock came from my great-grandfather's house in Nova Scotia. The dials at the top are for adjusting the speed, and turning the chimes off and on. I love the sound of the chimes, very good quality. Can anyone tell me about the maker, date etc?

Beautiful Clock. Thanks for sharing it. I've never seen a pin cylinder configuration like that before.

If you can, please provide the following:

Any and all information printed, stamped or labeled on the dial, movement, case, pendulum and key. This includes names, trademarks, serial/model/patent numbers and dates.

If mechanical, how often does it need to be re-wound?

Measurements of the dial and case. Please take measurements at the longest, widest, and deepest points only.

Well lit photos of the entire case, with close-ups of the dial, movement and any distinctive decorative feature(s) or labels.

This information will be very helpful, but it still may not lead to a definitive model or date.

If no one here can help, you may want to try posting on the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors message board. You would need to register, but most areas are free and open to the public. Here's the link to the message board: http://mb.nawcc.org/ . You would want to post in the "Clocks General" forum.

      Good luck.

Thank you Bruce99 for your suggestions. The mystery has been solved - by Allan Symons, Manager and Curator of The Canadian Clock Museum. He tracked down the trademark ("CW" in a horseshoe) as being that of the Carl Werner company of Villingen, Baden, Schwarzwald, Germany, founded in 1870. A forum posting says that Werner was sold to Kienzle in 1913.
My clock is 12"W, 18"H and 7.5"D. There is a number 21 stamped on the bottom right of the brass movement, and the trademark "CW" in a horseshoe. The key has "West" on one side and "Minster" on the other. It is an 8-day clock.

I just uploaded a pic of the trademark on my clock, and a graphic of the same trademark found on the mikrolisk site. Thanks again for your interest!
