    trunkman
    (148 items)

Walkin' down the street one day in the very merry month of May, and I notice this wonderful old box careening on a pile of refuse. "Well" says I -- "might as well grab it and take it home and see what it is". Low and behold a portable typewriter from 1927 emerged from its slumber. Lovely old timer piece -- just love the look.

A few minutes was all it took to change the life of Mr. T. Johnson forever. Had the typewriter been left in its exact position careening upon the heap of rubble, where he mistakenly left it, Mr. Johnson would have picked it up, and walked towards the antique store, at the exact moment when the piano movers from the third floor accidently forgot to tie the third strap on the left side of the over-hanging piano, only to see it crash unexpectedly to the ground, where had Mr. Johnson would have been, except for the fact that some saint took the typewriter, causing a life saving time delay. "Always happy to do a good deed..." said the stranger as he walked away slowly with typewriter in hand...

Now the "trunkman" awaits curbside, ready as always to defend the misguided soul who for reasons unbeknownst to him, leaves articles of great value unattended near piles of unwanted refuse. "Maybe one day they will learn... if only they had checked out collector's weekly..." he said with a half smile, as they sun set on another exciting garbage pick up day...

Wistfully the Trunkman mused over the thought of that steampunker's missed chance of self expression, knowing full well however, that the tabs off the myriad of coke cans strewn about would easily suffice in the making thereof of the dorky bracelet, which will, surprisingly enough, find its way onto collectors weekly some 100 years later, in some misplaced category. Fate once more rears its ugly head...

      Guys -- she's onto us...
Place plan "007 - IHAVENOCLUE" into place.
Thanks for the double love valentino97 -- you are the bestest!!!!!

I thought plan "007 - IHAVENOCLUE" had been replaced with "007.1- IHAVENOCLUE".
      What now????
    9. trunkman trunkman, 10 years ago
Geez walksoftlty the 007.1 plan is only in effect AFTER the apocalypse.... you keep messing that up -- you are going to get us all killed...

Dare to dare eh? Right now it is on display in our family room on a low trunk so the cat can type out her memoirs uninterrupted -- (poor kitty -- we haven't told her about computers yet.) I have a hard enough time remembering to take out the recycling and you are asking me for something next year! Challenge accepted... now onto a dare for you -- oh its coming...

Hey I am repairing one of these and I was wondering where the draw band is, it's a long piece of rope that attaches to the right end of the carriage, I was just wondering the location
