Although very popular. Cook books aren't my "thing". Sometimes, though, you see something that grabs your attention.
Take this 1968 Southern Cook Book. Well, there's Paw-Paw Cocktail. For your soup how about Virginia Peanut Soup. For your salad may I suggest Poke Salad. For your meat there is a selection. Tripe, Pig's Feet, or Chitterlings ( chit'lin's). If you would like to special order there is Seven Minute Canvasback Duck, Remmington Farm's Mixed Game Pie, or Roast 'Possum With Sweet 'Taters. Let's close with a nice Persimmon Pudding.
Disclaimer. I (obviously) know nothing about how to group foods. These were chosen for there colorful dish names. Enjoy !
