The colour theme continues. Magpie behaviour!

I came across this jam pot the other day when I went out on the hunt. It was on a shelf at the Salvo's and conveniently had the lid sellotaped on top to avoid breakage. I saw the lid and knew it was an Arabia jam pot. But the design had me intrigued.

I associate the jam pots with Raija Uosikkinen and her beautiful design series called "Pomona". I have a few of these pots and have had more ...

When I got home I looked for the design and finally found out some more detail about the Arabia jam pots.

In Finnish they are called "Hillopurkki".
The shape of the pot and the lid is actually a design of Ulla Procopé.
It dates to 1959, I think.

Fabulous Finnish Design!

There were two different transfer designs:
Arabia, Pomona, malli/model FA design by Raija Uosikkinen
and
Arabia, Tutti Frutti, malli/model FA 2 design by Ulla Procopé.

This is the "Omena" or Apple version of the Ulla Procopé series called Tutti Frutti!

The date of this pot is from 1963.
The series was produced from 1959 to 1965.
