Found this in my fathers back yard. Looks like something you would wrap a hose around. I cant tell. Whatever it is, its really cool :)

Pretty sure it is for the hose. Does it have a handle to turn it or a place where a handle would have been?

May have been for an older roll of barbed wire.

Picture isn't very clear but I would say it is an old fire hose reel. I hate to show my age but do some research along that line.

Based on the one photo, I would also say hose real. Plus there is what appears to be a hydrant just to the left.
