I think this plate may be Japanese? I have googled and searched but cannot find a similar pattern and the makers mark? It is all Chinese to me. LOL, I think the birds are flying Cranes.
If anybody recognises the pattern etc I would love to know.

    Hi Elaine, you are correct, it is Japanese, the roof-like mark at the top is a 'yago' and means 'in the house of' or 'shop'. The kanji below it indicate the kiln, and possibly the artist. If you go to Gotheborg and scroll almost to the bottom, you will find more information regarding yago marks. The patters looks modern, but maybe not. Best wishes, Jim

    Jim is right Elaine but I think it might be Japanese " Kutani" the red and gold with the crane design is a typical pattern.There area lot of variations by region though. I have a red vase I posted a week ago. Looked at a lot of images and this looks similar to some pieces I've seen. -Mike-
