I have no idea what it's for - anybody know? Would love more info.

What else can I say? All I know is what I can see in the two pictures. The badge/tag is quite small, feels weighty, and states the date of '1902'.

If you paid a yearly membership, you joined the club and you could enter by showing this badge. This one was issued for 1902. RER(BOB)

I found a reference to a Crystal Palace Club that partnered with the Royal Automobile Club. Thinking it was a Gentleman's Club. (I also found listings that erroneously connected it to the Crystal Palace Football Club).
