    I think one is a sheath and one is called a scabbard? Not sure. Is this World War 1? Or earlier? Thank you.

      The leather thing is a "frog", the metal piece is the scabbard. I'm not sure, but this looks like the scabbard for some of the shorter bayonets the British had for their jungle carbines and even submachine guns
