    Few years ago I started collecting vintage jewelry...
    I have several favorites.... And BAKELITE is one of them.
    I love early plastic, bakelite, lucite, celluloid, galalith, etc...,
    I heart (love) all plastic, like this one,
    I feel so lucky to have found this brooch pin :)
    What do you think of it??? Do tell, need some comments here ;)

      Great pieces are you a bargain hunter or do you fork over the cash? I myself have a hard time paying retail prices but if the piece is one I can not live with out I will fork over the cash. Happy hunting!

      Wow. I collect pins and brooches (and wear one every day) and I am a teacher. You can imagine how fast your beautiful piece makes my heart race!

      @ Vintage Mad: I'm a bargain hunter, I can't over spend money. I have two lil kids so when I'm hunting for vintage pieces I have to be careful. I have a budget, a limit to what I'm willing to pay. I'm proud of myself :)

      This is a great piece, and I'm sure rare or hard to find nowadays. I would look up a good online site that specializes in bakelite and send them a pic and get an appraisal. In my opinion, I can see this going for over $1000 just based on prices I have seen on other pieces from bakelite sites that were of whimsy pieces like this.

      Thanks. I also have seen that this piece average price range is $1000. I tried to sell it on ebay, auction with a reserve. Well it didn't research my reserve so I'm going to keep it for now until I can find a collector that really wants it. You know this pin is in the book, "Bakelite Jewelry/ good-better-best" by Donna Wassertrom & Leslie Pina on pg 21.

      @ VillageIdiot: It's a rare unique piece, I had my reserve at $1000 and at the same time I was getting offers, which I didn't mind. Someone offered me $100, I was offended... lol. I agree on what you said, about eBay coming like Kmart (x ... I have great pieces besides the ones here and in order for me to get what I want for them, I was thinking of going to Rubylane.
