Hey man, I found this old jug about a year ago. The thing was laying in a wooded area in Jacksonville, FL. I took it home because it looked really neat. I recently took the jug to an antique dealer here in town and he told me that it was from around 1890 and appeared to be ash-alkaline glazed. He also stated that it appeared to be from the Catabawa Valley in North Carolina. I have asked several people about the age, origin, maker, and value and I can't get an answer. The maker's mark is a single stamped T and it has a hand written 2 on it for the gallon size. I would like to have the maker and area where it was made so that I can have a story with my jug. I recently started "picking", basically looking in other people's junk, and have found some really cool things. It would be amazing if you could help me with this jug. Thanks a million.
