Akro Agate was a glass company the produced novelty type glass as well as children's pieces during the 30s-50s in Clarksburg WV. They produced like I mentioned child's tea sets and similar pieces and what they called their General Line. That consisted of various size flower pots of many different shapes, vases, planters, ash trays, advertising pieces, and on and on.
Mainly in endless slag colors and combinations, some common and other very rare. There is club that meets every years in Clarksburg area in July. The factory site still exists but only a holding tank of some type is still there. The grounds around the factory are littered with fragments of this glass to this day and fun to dig around. Its a great greoup to belong to!

We have a large collection of this stuff too in all sorts of pieces and colors.

Thanks, its an interesting category of glass and very popular. Many of the pieces are Art Deco in design, especially in the vases.

You should join! Its fun usually an auction, seminars, buying, and some of us always go to the old factory site. There are fragments all over the site and you can usually find some marbles too!

Akro Agate was produced in Clarksburg WV and was a huge maker of children's sets in the 30s and 40s. They were produced in many patterns as well as many colors. Akro Agate also produced many specialty items in what is called the General Line too.
But if you like childrens sets I would look into it more. There is also a club that meets every July just outside of Clarksburg.
