    This colourful hippo in blue with darker patterns was picked up at a tip with other stuff all for £1 the lot about 10ish years ago, I know nothing about it & never tried to find out til now it is marked on the bottom as in pics, its about 3" long and quite nice really, if anyone knows anything about this style pottery I'd love to know more...

      Hi surf, I have a similar piece that was a gift from a friend. As far as I know it is a reproduction of an ancient Egyptian piece. It is sold in museum shops... I have seen it at the Louvre and British Museum: http://www.britishmuseumshoponline.org/invt/cmcr90810/?ref=searchzone

      Also the photo of the mark is blurry.
