This is our third weird vase from the 50s... although they were purchased in very different occasions in the city of Valencia, we are sure this one and the previous green vase were made by the same potter.

in this case the inspiration comes purely from Nature, and what we have got here is something reminding of a carnivorous plant or even one of those stinky flowers (please see pic 4b) or it just occurred to me it could also be a sea plant... some kind of sponge maybe.

The colour choice here cannot be more simple and more effective: white, black and yellow! The spots change colour when they are on black or on a yellow background and help this background change from one to the other "very elegantly" :)

Thanks for your loves and/or comments valentino, Manikin, Mike, Violet, Vet, Sean, Agh, Amber and Racer!!!

@vet... it looks like the carnivr season just started at CW! :)

      Amber... you're terrible!!! :) I love that anyway ;)

@ Racer, yes, it seems Valencia has always been at the forefront in terms of decorative arts and even Art in general. It always was in the old times, and my guess is that during the 20th Century, because of the oranges commerce it was in touch with many of the European currents and fashions.
