    I recently came across this old trunk. Though it is in rough shape, I had to have it. I have done some searches and cannot find another with the "X". It is on the top too. Just thought it was interesting.

      Great old "beater trunk" with lots of character. It is not uncommon to see this type of trunk with an x pattern on the front. What is really neat are the two guides on the front beside the lock -- good quality and a bit unusual. Probably a 1930's or 40's trunk.
