These are examples of the handpainted shades mentioned just recently on CW. Twice in the last 30 days. They are both opal and marigold iridescent 2 & 1/4 fitter shades. I have believed that these were Bohemian/ Czech shades. I did have one several years ago that had a small paper foil label saying that it was made in Czechoslovakia. Also the Carnival shades book written by McGuire? I hope I have that right, lists these shades as Czech. Now Alfredo says they are Ruckl so thank you. Another mystery solved. :O) I don't feel any differently, when I can attribute a maker to a particular shade, about the shade but it does feel good to learn something new every day. I hope the images are of interest to you.
I look forward to your remarks. I wish the images were better. I still find it very difficult to capture the wonderful colours especially the highlights on iridescent glass.

I should also mention that frit is used to give texture to the trees, water, and some times even the snow. I particularly enjoy the way the tree branches are picked out. They really look like the ice trees we have experienced so many times this winter. I am referring to the third image here.
These are beautiful..I especially like the fourth shade, maybe it's the soft subtle colours or that the house looks quite! cosy in it's wintery surroundings!..they are all exceptionally well done...thanks for sharing!....:-)
Inky, thank you. I find that same shade is my favourite too. The colours are much better than they appear in the image. It has a softness that the others don't.

Is there a place on the site where we can ask questions?
A beautiful Baccarat shade sold on ebay earlier this week and I would love to know if any of you bought it. I would also love to know if the person who did buy it bought it for resale. Are those questions appropriate? And if they are where would I be able to ask them?
