This wristwatch which came with the original box, price tag and instructions was made by Ingersoll in 1937. The watch hands (in the shape of wooden directional signs) are made of brown 'plastic' with the scouting motto 'BE PREPARED' printed on the hour hand and 'A SCOUT IS' printed on the minute hand. Hence, as the minute hand rotates, the tip of the minute hand will be pointing to twelve different disciplines (written around the perimeter of the dial), over the course of 60 minutes, representing :-
'A SCOUT IS' -
1. Trustworthy - between 12/1
2. Loyal - between 1/2
3. Helpful - between 2/3
4. Friendly - between 3/4
5. Courteous - between 4/5
6. Kind - between 5/6
7. Obedient - between 6/7
8. Cheerful - between 7/8
9. Thrifty - between 8/9
10. Brave - between 9/10
11. Clean - between 10/11
12. Reverent - between 11/12
