This is all original from my Aunt's Grandmother. The base seems to be made of cast iron/steel with a magnet sticking to it. The bottom says Rembrandt Pat App For R7078B. The top is possibly marble. If anyone can tell me the history on this item it would be greatly appreciated. What time it is from and possibly its value. Thank you so much in advance and take care my friends! : )

This is a plant stand with an onyx top from around 1895 or earlier. Rembrandt produced cast iron accessories items.

yes, I have a very similar one in my posted items. It does have an onyx top- same colors, etc... the problem is, mine is painted white and I am going to remove it. What a choir.

oh my gosh!! I just read my comment and cannot believe I wrote choir istead of chore!!! A lesson learned about double checking. Holy cow. Sorry.

I have come back and looked at this three times. While I think it would serve as a fine plant stand I think that it is actualy the bottom half of a floor lamp. The giveaway is the threaded pipe protruding thru the onyx top. I think another pole lamp part screwed on to that to make a floor lamp. The other thing that struck me is it appears to be end table height for along a chair and not the typical plant stand height which is taller.I think it dates to the 20's, as it has elements of both art deco and art noveau. A transitional piece. I did an exstensive search of Rembrandt and came up with lots of floor lamps, then did a search of plant stands and came up empty. And that's more than my 2 cents.

I believe you are right. I believe it was an end table lamp.

I have one similar out in the barn but it's missing the onyx, been trying to figure out what to put in there.

I have seen a couple of other Rembrandt tables, and both of them had a decorative iron work protruding through the marble. I think that is what the hole in yours is for.
