This was a great trip! With my girlfriend Connie! In classic 1972 VW Super Beetle Convertible! Last photo is me and Connie and FAMOUS TEASER Dog! named after Cat Stevens album TEASER and the Firecat! Or something like that 3rd photo is Connie by papaya tree! Sorry that is cow by tree! haha Connie watching cows! Connie died young about 15 yrs. ago of cancer! She was wonderful as I was high most of the time then, and she stuck with me! The good die young they say! As Bob Marley says "Good friends we have and good friends we have lost along the way, So in this great future, do not forget your past! so dry your eyes I say!" I loved Connie, Teaser and that VW!!! We camped that night by the tree! Don
That my friend, is one h#@? of a GREAT story! You should probably write a book...I would definitely buy a copy. I bet those were 6 wild months. I bet you have many stories from then. We lived the same life apart. Wish we had met back then, - but maybe we did. I left the States in '73 and got a letter when I reached social security age (They misnamed that program) & had my input info since I got a SS card. 31 years with a "0" next to it! Strangely, I'm proud of that. They stole all the money anyway!

Wow Virginia.vintage, if I thought I would get such remarks if I posted pics of my life, I would do it in a heart-beat. Well, maybe not. The terms "evidence" & "indictment" kind of make me back away from that idea! No "LOL" on that.

I agree Virginia and appreciate being put in a category, I think. All I can say is, don't get shot(it hurts), cut real bad or head damage. The best way to do that is to stay away from revolutions, politics & places where you shouldn't be at the time. Come to think about it, I don't even talk to friends about those parts of my life. Best left alone & they wouldn't believe it anyway.

We were probably in same area if not the same town! From Mexico to Brazil!!!
How do you like your Is.? If I live on Is. I need Puerto Rico, Samoa, or the Amre. Virgin Is. or Philippines as VA has clinics there oh or Guam!!
I know what you mean Toracat. I'm in the same boat. I had French coverage & they paid $45K for my aortic valve replacement($58K usd). So wanting to start paying taxes to pay them back, I formed a company so I could pay taxes, only to find that I was of retirement age (no taxes) & they would give me 300 euros per month pension! They had done enough & I backed away. Had to close my Fr. banque acct. to keep them from automatically depositing it. No wonder the Fr. economy is virtually bust! Finally got that circle broken. Now wish I hadn't! Well, the Fr. hospitals can't refuse you anyway! Tora, by U.S. traditions, you have to already have to be on a doctor's patient list & that isn't so easy. My list is in KY & that's a long flight.
The VA gives me 100% free medical, dental, and eye glasses. From Santa Rosa Clinic to SF big VA hosp. is 60 miles free van service 2 X day, if I want to drive they pay me at hosp cash $56. for gas and bridge toll. I also have free camping pass for All St. Ca. and all Nat. Parks and museums. The VA county pays my property taxes! Son received over $100,000 college grants from VA St. and Fed. also Pell grants, and UC grants, and Japanese Scholarship! Many, many more benefits! And since age 19 disability payments tax free! now receive over $34,000 a year. + SS and ret. for St. Ca. and County of Mendocino! and art collection worth $3.99!!! haha
