I purchased this small chest yesterday at a thrift store. Its dimensions are 27x14.5x16. The top, front and sides all have a design made into the wood, possibly with pyrography? Just a guess. I can't find any markings other than the pattern. The bottom is made of interlocking slats. There are pegs in all the holes except for the screws in the hinges. I can't find anything else similar anywhere on the internet. I love it, but would also love to know more about it.
Thanks for the post -- however your pictures are too small for us to zoom in to get a sense of your piece. If you could download a larger formatted picture it would be helpful. Looks interesting...
