Another mark that I cannot decipher. Any info on this out there in CW? I'm not a Sake drinker but I fell in love with the color ..it goes so well with my other décor. Very soft green against the dark brown lines. I adore this little set. Maybe I should start drinking me some Sake :)

Hi, ive got a stoneware pot listed with the same mark and the same colouring mines a lamp base , it was made in Bernard Leach's pottery St. Ives , Cornwall , U.K ... not nessesarily by leach himself but by one of their many potters..
their marks vary a little , one like ours $ & one with the I at an angle, sometimes there are other marks which will be the potters signatures..
      great find

      check out mine!!

Thank you surfdub66. I will now research Leach pottery.

I can't find anything from the studio that was produced with clay that burns to chocolate brown.
Also, the OP marking seems substantially different from crossed S w/ dots or curved cross with dots mark associated with Leach St. Ives. Do you have a reference that shows a marking similar to that in the original post?

I'm just not getting a Leach vibe from that set at all… But I'd be happy to be wrong and learn a new marking.

Maybe Phil Rogers....I will send pic's to his FB site and see if I get a response.
