Got this today for 50 bucks to use in my daughters wedding. I am interested to know if any one can tell me anything about it and should I clean it up or leave it alone?

I guess that depends on the wedding and how it's being used. If its a Vintage theme clean it up. For a pirate theme I would leave it as is?
There's a lot of restored trunks on here too, if that's what you meant by clean it up.
A whole new meaning to the word "rustic". This trunk, as you know, is in pretty poor shape. Whatever you do you could not possibly devalue it. The good thing about that is you can do anything you want to it. For a wedding I would paint it white and gold and buy dollar store necklaces and jewelry and plastic swords and crowns and fill the thing up and asks the guests to take some treasure home with them. What a fun thing to have at the entrance to the reception!!!!
I have taken the sanding paper to it and have varnished the wood.I am not done yet but will post after complete. Its looking so much better!!!
