This was my grandmas machine. I can remember her using it when i was young. That sound of the treadle going is still vivid in my mind. I cant find any information on it. It is marked made in Taiwan, and has "deluxe precision" on the front. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the response. I looked at the serial number and its not a singer serial number. Thats why i am stumped.
Made in Taiwan - deluxe precision - Asian machine in the style of a Singer 15- produced in the late 40's early 50's. Not possible to date these unless you find a dated receipt or warranty with them
Singer did not make 'badged' machines or supply machines to other companies to add their own names, these Asian machines used the Singer 15 design after the copyright expired
They all put there name in the foot pedal, you can clearly see it's Centinnial....lovely, we had one quite similar, those draws are very evocative ..but were long thin and quite useless to get to anything..lol..

Interesting that you say it's 1940s as ours was around 1915...
Centennial is just a name added by the seller - anything that says 'Deluxe Precision' will be post WW2. It could be from 1951 taking advantage of the centennial of Singer perhaps.
The same style of machine can still be purchased new for countries where electricity is not readily available.
Wow, thanks for the information. I really appreciate all the input. I knew nothing about it, just have the memories of grandma using it.
