    that I've never seen before Here are the similar ones from north Carolina i found a long time ago at the mine i was wondering if any of you lap collectors out there could identify them there very hard i took a dremel to it with a cutting wheel on it for heavy steel and it bearly touched it

      If you don't know what you have but suspect it is a precious gem why would you try to cut it with a dremel? Dremels don't cut most common stone either. Put a diamond bur in your dremel and see what you get. I would be willing to bet you will find the same thing all the way through it.

      Here are some more im going to try my hand a cutting one of them i have a nice flex shaft [i just say dremel cuz most people are like "a what" ] any way if i get the correct bit I'll be able to at least amateurly cut one then throw it in my lorotone just to see what i have i gave my spectromoter away because the acid glass broke

      *will i be able to cut one with the right bit or do i need to use my full out bench grinder with a special blade?
