I found this old iron bed one day out traveling US 40 in Indiana. I needed a bed for the spare bedroom upstairs and this worked out just fine.

Officalfuel, How far are you from Rockville, IN. My wife was is from there. she still has family living in Rockville. There are or were some nice antiques shops in that town.
ttomtucker, I am about 60 miles from there. My mom lives about 15 miles from there. So you know about the Covered Bridge Festival. I think there may me two or three in town.
Yes we have gone to the Covered Bridge Festival several times. When we do fly back to Indiana, It's during the Festival. My sister-in-law has been working that bridge festival for last 30 years until they moved to Montezuma.

I have a bed that looks very similar to your bed. It came out of a huge barn full of stuff at a place in Greenville, Illinois. I've had it since the mid-1970's. Everything original including the bolts that connect the headboard and footboard to the two railings. Mine has also been cleaned up and repainted. My mom was with me when we found it. They tied it onto the top of the big old Chevy and we drove it home to St. Louis! What a fabulous memory that is for me. We laughed all the way...even when we were carrying up to my apartment! I still love it just as much as the day we found it. Glad I saw yours.
