    I received this in a box lot at an auction. It's about 12inches long and the handle says "Union Ice Co. It's pure that's sure." Any info would be greatly appreciated.

      I would guess you are young and have no idea what an ice box was.

      That is OK. I can tell you the item was made around 1897 to 1920. More commonly used on shoe button hooks. Worth about $5 on the open market.The handle was mass produced and attached to different items with different logos.

      i thought it was a button hook when i first saw it, but then i noticed the blade on it and i don't know what it is now. how would this have been used?
